I am a fully qualified Maths teacher and currently teach a range of students from Primary to GCSE and prospective PGCE applicants.I am available to tutor evenings and daytime during the summer holidays and am able to travel within the Bristol area. I am passionate about Maths and helping all learners develop their understanding and enjoyment of the subject.
I have taught Maths since 2013 and have experience of teaching students from 11-18 in the classroom as well as in one-to-one environments. I have experience of teaching in schools in Devon, Somerset and Dorset across Key Stages 3 to 5.
The needs of the student are the most important factor in planning and delivering a successful tutoring session. I will initially talk to the tutee and find out what they find easy or areas they struggle with. I will then carry out an assessment of the student's strengths and weaknesses and establish specific areas for focus and improvement.
I am approachable and patient and understand that every person progresses at a different pace and in a different way. I think a personalised learning programme is the best and most effective way to ensure the tutee develops their understanding.
I am able to provide extensive materials and resources. If 10 sessions or more are required I will create an Individual Learning Plan to show what the tutee will be learning and to be able to evidence their progress over time.
I charge £30 an hour for tutoring - I will travel to your home and provide maths materials during the lesson and set and mark homework. I have a enhanced DBS (formerly CRB) certificate and am able to provide that as well as my teaching certificates on request.
